Hacking Runescape means changing part of the Runescape code meaning that people have unfair advantages that they have not earned.
How people hack Runescape code
People who are clever with the code or have downloaded a program can do something that changes the way that the code works and therefore you will receive something for no reason or your account will make money automatically.
How can you change the Runescape code without the "password"? Runescape is coded in Java and is downloaded to your computer when you first start playing it. If you edit the code, when the information is sent back to Runescape (telling the server what you have done), then it can trick the server that you have items you don't have!
How can people get away with this?
They cannot! Most people who cheat will not get away with it and Runescape will ban them, so any effort they have put into the account is wasted.
Why do people cheat?
